The SSE Airtricity/SWAI Player of the Month September Player of the Month award nominees have been announced.
The six nominees for the September award are:-
Jack Byrne (Shamrock Rovers) - Byrne followed up a good showing against AC Milan with three goals and four assists across games with Waterford and Dundalk to earn himself a senior international call-up and push Shamrock Rovers closer to the Premier Division title.
Roberto Lopes (Shamrock Rovers) - Lopes also earned a senior international call-up (for Cape Verde) following his performances for Rovers across September, which included a goal in a convincing win over Waterford and clean sheets against Cork City and in the top-of-the-table clash with Bohemians.
Michael Duffy (Dundalk) - Duffy returned to form as Dundalk progressed to the cusp of the Europa League group stages, and he scored a stunning goal in a 3-2 win over Shelbourne.
Andre Wright (Bohemians) - Wright scored two winning goals against Sligo and Derry to help Bohs bounce back from successive league defeats at the start of the month.
Matty Smith (Waterford) - With the exception of a heavy defeat to Shamrock Rovers, it was a fine month for Waterford with Smith among the club's best performers, and scored a long-range volley in an important 1-0 win over Sligo.
Mark Doyle (Drogheda) - Drogheda are top of the first division thanks in no small part to Doyle, who scored eight goals in six games, including a hat-trick against Shamrock Rovers II.
