Shels, Shamrock Rovers and Wexford through in Avenir Sports All-Island Cup

Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers and Wexford all secured places in the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup Semi-Finals today.

Linfield Women were knocked out of the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup at the quarter-final stage thanks to a 3-2 defeat by Wexford at Midgley Park.

The game featured a pair of superb goals with Wexford's Freya De Mange scoring from inside her own half and Keri Halliday curling in a consolation from just over 20 yards out.

Kerri Halliday’s double wasn’t enough as Wexford goals from Aine Walsh and Ceola Bergin added to De Mange’s goal to secure passage through to the Semi-Finals.

A Noelle Murray double cancelled out Casey Howe’s opener for Shels against Athlone Town as the Reds made it through to the next round.

Shamrock Rovers secured their place with goals from Lia O’Leary, Aine O’Gorman and Lauren Kelly as they defeated Peamount United 3-0.

Defending Champions Galway United face Treaty United next Saturday at 17:00 for the final spot.
