Elsewhere, Bray Wanderers recovered from last week's defeat with victory over Wexford, Longford Town claimed a narrow victory over Drogheda United and UCD AFC beat Cobh Ramblers.
Athlone Town 1-3 Cabinteely
Cabinteely are top of the First Division after a hard-fought victory over Athlone Town.
Vilius Labutis opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark to put Cabinteely ahead but Athlone, in their first game of the season, were level just after the break thanks to Ronan Manning's 49th minute strike.
However, Pat Devlin's side responded in ruthless fashion thanks to a brace from Shane Barnes and secured back-to-back victories.

Bray Wanderers 2-0 Wexford
Bray Wanderers claimed their first victory of the campaign with a comfortable win over Wexford.
Gary Shaw scored his second goal of the season to put the Seagulls ahead in front of over 1,100 at the Carlisle Grounds, just before the half-hour mark.
Wexford put up a valiant display but it wasn't enough as Andrew Moran scored in the final minute of the game to secure the points.

Drogheda United 0-1 Longford Town
Longford Town secured a huge three points as the two promotion contenders went head-to-head at United Park.
Sam Verdon scored the winner in the 21st minute of the game as Brandon Bermingham was sent off in the second-half for the home side.
It is the second victory of the campaign for De Town who keep the pace at the top of the First Division with Cabinteely.

UCD AFC 1-0 Cobh Ramblers
UCD AFC secured their first win of the campaign but they were made to wait in a hard-fought contest against Cobh Ramblers.
Yoyo Mahdy scored the only goal of the game three minutes from time to secure the points at the UCD Bowl.
