Manning put the home side in front in the 23rd minute but Athlone were pegged back four minutes from the break after Aaron Myles' own goal.

However, the home side showed fantastic spirit and scored in the 89th minute to claim an impressive point as Manning notched his brace.

Cabinteely 1-0 Cobh Ramblers

Pat Devlin's First Division leaders continued their unbeaten season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Cobh Ramblers.

There wasn't much to split the two sides as Shane Barnes scored the only goal of the game 13 minutes from time to secure the points for Cabo.

Pierce Phillips was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 88th minute for Ramblers as Cabinteely maintained a three-point gap at the top of the table.

Galway United 0-1 Longford Town

Longford Town moved into second position in the First Division thanks to a late victory at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Both sides had a number of chances to break the deadlock but eight minutes from time, it was Aaron McCabe who scored the only goal of the game to secure a win for De Town.

The win sees Longford move ahead of Drogheda in the table but still three points behind high-flying Cabinteely.
