A 51st minute goal from Derek Daly earned Waterford FC the points after a hard-fought South East First Division derby in Ferrycarrig Park.
Half-time substitute Conor Whittle made an almost immediate impact when he teed up Derek Daly, who did the rest by rifling a powerful lefted-footed strike beyond Corey Chambers.
There wasn't much between the sides in the opening 45 minutes but the visitors began to build up a head of steam as the half wore on, without creating many chances on note. However, they were quickly out of the blocks after the interval with Daly grabbing the all-important goal.
In fairness to the hosts they refused to throw in the towel and asked a few questions of the Blues, with Danny Doyle firing over after a decent run, but the Waterford defence held firm and they collected another three points in their promotion push.
