The bottom two sides in the First Division had to be content with a share of the spoils after a dour contest at Ferrycarrig Park.

After a poor opening 45 minutes the game improved slightly after the break, with the home side beginning the second period on the front foot and Adam Hanlon trying his luck on a couple of occasions.

However, Longford began to boss proceedings and went close to snatching the winner on 72 minutes when Cody Mulhall's shot was blocked by goalkeeper Corey Chambers and Enda Curran's follow-up effort came back off the crossbar.

That was as close as either side came though and Wexford FC are still searching for their first win of the campaign.
