Michael Barker was the Bohemians hero as he scored a 93rd-minute winner to give his side a 2-1 win over Waterford FC at the RSC.

Waterford midfielder’s Shane Duggan and Bastien Hery were first to threaten for the home side but neither could find the back of the net early in the game.

The in-form Danny Mandroiu had two efforts in the space of one minute. He forced Matthew Connor into a good low save before striking the crossbar with a long-range strike.

Waterford had appeals for a penalty turned down after a possible handball before Bohs took the lead. Mandroiu and Conor Levingston linked up to find the run of Luke Wade Slater and his shot hit Waterford defender Rory Feely before finding the net.

Waterford equalised 15 minutes later. Rory Feely drove forward down the right and his well-struck cross hit Bohs defender Michael Barker and nestled into the bottom corner.

Dean Walsh almost gave Waterford a half-time lead but Bohs keeper James Talbot made an excellent low save.

The first chance of the second half fell to Waterford’s Dean Walsh but he fired wide, before Bohs keeper Talbot saved well from Feely. Keith Buckley almost gave Bohs the lead again but his header from Paddy Kirk’s cross was over Connor’s crossbar.

But it was Bohemians who grabbed a late, winner, as Danny Mandroiu’s low corner found Barker to fire into the bottom corner.
