The striker meeting David Cawley’s cross mid-air with his back to goal for his eighth of the season. Local lad Mahon had Sligo’s second on 55 as he sent a thumping header off the underside of the crossbar and beyond Mannus.
The Dubliners did have subsequent chances courtesy of substitutes Sean Boyd and Joel Coustrain. But Sligo held out for just their fourth league win at home all season.
