Sligo and Dundalk battled to a 1-1 draw at The Showgrounds.
Dundalk took the lead after Niclas Vemmelund was left unmarked to head in a corner after 10 minutes.
It was a poor goal for Sligo to concede, but the home side responded well. Regan Donelon robbed Brian Gartland of the ball and should have but the home side in front as he went through on goal, only to have his effort smothered by Gary Rogers.
Sligo grabbed a deserved equaliser as Benny Igiehon scored his first goal for the club in bizarre fashion. His left footed cross from the right wing evaded everyone, hit the fart post and trickled over the line to level the score after 24 minutes.
The tempo of the game slowed down significantly for the remainder of the half, and it was 1-1 at half time. The second half continuted in the same manner, with neither side finding any fluidity in their play.
Dundalk managed to win a succession of corners on the hour mark, but none of them caused any issues for the Sligo defence. The game petered out to a 1-1 draw in what was a largely forgettable half of football, with only a few off-target shots being the best of the action. Sligo have now drawn three in a row, and both sides will likely agree a draw was a fair result.
