Shelbourne joined four teams in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division level on points as they held league leaders Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium.

Rovers are now just five points ahead of rivals Bohemians in the table with the Dalymount club set to welcome Dublin rivals St. Patrick's Athletic tomorrow.

Both sides had chances throughout the match as Shamrock Rovers struggled to break down the Shelbourne defence. On a number of occasions, the final ball didn't find it's target and Rovers, despite dominating the vast majority of the game, couldn't find the net.

Shelbourne had chances themselves and could have took all three points in the second-half as Jaze Kabia flashed the ball over the bar with 20 minutes remaining.

Shelbourne boss Ian Morris said: "Delighted with the point, even though we had a good spell at the end of the first-half.

"We got the ball in the right areas and the ball flashed across the box a couple of times but couldn't get the final touch in the end. But, overall, it's a good point and a positive night for the club.
