UCD were the better side throughout and could have had a goal in the fifth minute, when Georgie Kelly's effort was saved by Mick Kelly. Kelly had another shot on goal after 34 minutes, which was again saved by Longford Town netminder.
Daire O'Connor could have had a goal before the break, but again Kelly was on hand to deny the visitors and the teams went in level at the interval.
Star striker Georgie Kelly then got the games opening goal, with a close range finish to the back of the net in the 61st minute, to give his side a 1-0 lead. Kelly then got the games second goal moments later with another excellent finish to seal the victory and cap off what was a fantastic individual performance by the Donegal native.
UCD have been very impressive this campaign with the students playing an attractive brand of football so far this campaign.
