Finn Harps are out of the relegation places in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division after a 2-0 win over Limerick FC at the Markets Field.

Goals in either half by Tommy McBride and Danny Morrissey propelled Olly Horgan's side ahead of Sligo Rovers. Harps were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half time when Killian Cantwell fouled Peter Berki inside the penalty area.

However, Rodrigo Tosi was unable to convert from 12 yards, hitting the post. Harps had taken the lead on 38 minutes when Eddie Dsane's cross come shot was parried by Brendan Clarke into the path of McBride and he made no mistake from close range.

Harps soaked up all of Limerick's pressure in the second half and hit their second goal 18 minutes from time. Morrissey took advantage of a defensive mix up and rounded Clarke, before passing the ball into an empty net to seal victory.
