Limerick FC and Drogheda United played out a 0-0 draw in their SSE Airtricity League First Division game at the Markets Field.
Drogheda had the better of the chances during the 90 minutes but Limerick had a glorious chance to snatch victory late on but half time substitute Kieran Hanlon fired over from 10 yards.
Sean Brennan threatened early for Tim Clancy's men with a couple of efforts from long range but failed to trouble Jack Brady. Brady was forced into a couple of fine stops later in the half, before Christopher Lyons shot wide after being put through by Luke Gallagher.
Limerick had to wait until the second half to create a clear chance and it came to Hanlon after Russell's free kick but he headed straight at Paul Skinner. Gallagher then missed with a header from eight yards, before Hanlon fired over for Limerick late on.
