Cobh Ramblers took the lead through Cian Leonard but the dismissal of Stephen O'Leary in the first half allowed Galway a great chance of capitalising on the extra man.
That they did with seven unanswered goals in the second half. Marc Ludden scored four and Stephen Walsh, Conor Barry and Conor Melody each helped out with a dominant win.
Stephen Walsh nabbed the first for the home side, Ludden then scored two in quick succession. One huge goal from outside the box with the left footer scoring with his right.
Conor Barry and Conor Melody grabbed their goals before Ludden finished off his rampage with his final two to close out the game in the 81st and 89th minute for Galway's third home win in the league this season.
