Galway United suffered their fifth loss in a row in all competitions on Friday night when Cobh Ramblers defeated The Tribesmen 2-1.

United have lost all of their First Division home games so far this season. United started poorly when Cian Murphy took down Jaze Kabia in the box with referee Adriano Reale pointing to the penalty spot without hesitation.

Kabia himself stood up and stroked the ball into the bottom left corner to give the visitors the lead. The Tribesmen equalised through a penalty of their own later in the first half after Stephen Walsh was tripped in the box.

Vinny Faherty took on the responsibility and sent the ball right down the middle to bring the sides level. Just on the stroke of half-time disaster struck for Alan Murphy’s men when Maurice Nugent bundled the ball into his own net after a good save by James Tierney fell into his path.

United spent the second half looking for something out of this game, but once again they came up short.
