Galway United suffered a 1-0 First Division home defeat at Eamonn Deacy Park as a second-half strike from Dean O' Halloran ensured Bray Wanderers returned home with all three points.

Dylan McGlade and Colin Kelly traded shots in the opening 11 minutes as both sides looked for a goal, while United's Conor Barry also looked lively with some clever dribbles.

McGlade then came close with an effort after a mazy run of his own down the left flank to produce a strike from a tight angle, but Andreas Werner got a strong hand to it. Bray's Richie Purdy came closest when his shot was cleared off the line on the half-hour mark - a relief for the Tribesmen.

In the second half, Galway's luck ran out as their inspiration also dissipated. A McGlade shot from 25 yards was dealt with well by Werner in the 71st minute, but from the resulting corner Bray took the lead through O' Halloran.

The visitors held out thanks to some clever use of possession as Alan Murphy's charges huffed and puffed in vain late on.
