Late goals from Derry City secured them a 2-0 victory over Northwest Rivals Finn Harps to strengthen their aim for European Football. The goals came from Darren Cole and Aaron McEneff.

The result is the reverse of the same fixture at Maginn in April and sees Kenny Shiels' side move up to third in the table, two points ahead of Shamrock Rovers.

Ollie Horgan's team remain in eighth place on 24 points and still have a game in hand over the four teams below them.

Both teams started the game well in true Derby fashion, and created a number of chances. Eddie Dsane came closest in the first half for the home side but Ger Doherty was determined for two consecutive clean sheets.

Rory Patterson had the best chance for the away team but the goal remained scoreless at the break. Both sides came out in the second half in a similar skin and fashioned a few chances each, with both keepers being called into action on a number of occasions.

But the deadlock was broken on the 87th minute via the right foot of Cole. An attempted clearance fell right to him and he made no mistake from close range. McEneff sealed the point in added time after rounding the keeper and coolly slotting home.
