The early running so far has been all by The Lilywhites. If a man needed a goal badly it was the returning Hoban, a brilliant low ball sent in by Murray was met by Hoban and he slotted it home for this first goal of the season. It had been 1229 days since his last Dundalk goal.

As Dundalk continued to press in the second half the next goal saw half the team line up to tee the shot Ronan Murray's shot was well saved by Clarke and Chvedukas smashed it into the net on the rebound.
Duffy was in on the act with a low shot converting after a great run down the left. Connolly's tireless running was deserved with a great run and rounding the keeper before slotting home. The goals were not finished there with Connolly becoming scorer to provider as his cross was met by Duffy who got his second on the night.
