Dundalk made it six wins on the trot as they brushed past Bray Wanderers in a excellent demonstration of attacking play by the home side.
A brace of goals from Pat Hoban, Dylan Connolly, Jamie McGrath and Marco Tagbajumi has maintained Dundalk's lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity League. The first goal came as Dundalk started to flex their attacking muscle, a cross into the area by Daniel Cleary was met by Hoban who was on hand to hook it home from close range.
Dundalk fans were barely sitting down when they net was struck again as Dylan Connolly struck a well worked effort from the edge of the area. Hoban continued to be a pest in the goal mouth of Bray but it was McGrath who was on hand to strike the third.
A fantastic long pass from Sean Hoare was met by Michael Duffy on the volley, Evan Moran saved brilliantly but McGrath tapped home from close range. The second half continued as much as the first with attacking phases of play by the home side exciting the fans and Hoban was once again to score when he headed cooly home from a Dean Jarvis cross.
The fifth and final goal from Dundalk game as Marco Tagbajumi hooked onto Murrays ball to seal the tie. The game however was completely overshadowed by the serious injury to Andrew McGovern who early reports suggest has broken his leg.
With medical teams on both sides attending the striken player, he was transported to hospital after an ambulance arrived and left the Oriel Park pitch. The reaction of the players said it all as the game wound down with the Lilywhites grabbing the three points.
