Bohemians ensured they remained hot on the heels of Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk as they move six points clear of Derry City in third with a 2-0 victory at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on Monday. Goals from Danny Mandroiu after 53-minutes and

Goals from Dinny Corcorcan and Daniel Kelly sealed the three points for Bohemians, with Derry City's miserable league form continued at The Brandywell.

The defeat means the Lone Moor Road side have only managed to accumulate 21 points from a possible 66 since April 16th, when the Candy Stripes beat Bohemians 3-1 at home.

The momentum was firmly in City’s corner following Gerard Doherty’s well-recorded heroics last week. However, Bohemians caught City cold and after one minute they took the lead through Dinny Corcoran – his shot sailing in after a Daniel Kelly cross along the box, which was matched by poor defending.

The Gypsies had another opportunity in front of goal after 13 minutes, this time Keith Ward getting the better of McHattie and Danny Seaborne couldn't rise above Kelly, who failed to steer the ball towards goal.

The Candy Stripes' first shot on target came after 22 minutes, when Rory Hale had a shot from the 18-yard line but it deflected into Shane Supple's arms.

Derry chasing the equaliser almost broke Bohs' lead just before the interval when Seaborne's header flashed over from the corner kick. Derry had the incentive and it looked as if half-time would come at a bad time.

In the second half, City started with urgency as Rory Hale had a shot from range, while Adrian Delap almost scored his second goal in a week when his effort whispered past the post from 20-yards.

However, in a flash, Bohs had doubled their lead, coming after 54 minutes. Daniel Kelly effort went beyond Doherty, who managed an intervention, but it wasn't enough to displace the ball from going to the bottom corner.

Supple, who was rarely tested, was called into action after 78 minutes when McEneff hit a thunderbolt towards the top-corner - summing up another poor night for the Foylesiders under the lights in the league again.
