Cork City made it two wins from two at the beginning of the new SSE Airtricity League season as they comprehensively defeated Galway United at Turners Cross.
Sean Maguire fired City into the lead after just 15 minutes as he pounced on an error from Galway’s Ciaran Nugent before calmly rolling the ball into an empty net.
Defender Ryan Delaney doubled his side’s advantage early in the second half, towering a header into the bottom left corner following a Stephen Dooley cross.
And Dooley made it three, expertly lobbing the ball over the on rushing goalkeeper after good work from Greg Bolger and Jimmy Keohane before Connor Ellis completed the scoring in injury time, stroking the ball into the far corner from close range.
