That man again Yuta Sasaki popped up with the winner as Cabinteely claimed an historic first ever SSE Airtricity League First Division win over Bray.

The Japanese winger came off the bench to help the South Dublin club claim all three points at Stradbrook. With Rob Manley blocked off in the 81st minute, Sasaki danced past three opponents before flashing a stunning finish past Gabriel Sava from 12-yards.

Wanderers had looked to have snatched a draw with Dylan McGlade made 1-1 with 15 minutes to. The sub rounded Stephen McGuinness and scored from an acute angle.

Division top-scorer Manley saw his tenth minute header come back off the post after Kieran Marty Waters’ centre. The home side then took the lead in style on the quarter hour.

Ex-Seagull Waters crossed from the right wing right footed. The ball fell to left winger Paul Fox. But he blasted a fantastic volley to the net from just inside the penalty area.

But the Wicklow side twice went close to levelling matters. Former Cabo striker Joe Doyle saw his effort fly narrowly over the bar on 30 minutes after good work by new signing Dean Williams and Derek Doyle.

Then four minutes before the break, ex-Wanderers custodian McGuinness got down well to get a vital hand to Williams’ shot with then Eoin Massey clearing the danger.

Cabo were denied by the cross-bar early in the second half when Jack Watson saw his effort cannon back off the bar.
