Waterford moved up to third position thanks to an impressive 2-0 victory at Bohemians.

With John Sheridan reportedly set to leave to join Wigan Athletic tomorrow, Waterford sealed the points in what could be his final match as manager thanks to two first-half goals.

Bohemians dominated the early stages but Waterford weathered the early storm and by the time they took the lead in the 24th minute, they were good value for it.

Man of the Match Tyreke Wilson found Ali Coote in acres of space 25-yard out and his powerful effort deflected off Dan Casey and found the bottom corner.

Half-time was made even better thanks to a fantastic Wilson free-kick in the final action of the first-half. A similar distance to the Coote strike, Wilson lined it up and his wonderful left-footed effort found the bottom corner.

A fight-back from the home side never materialised and Waterford should have added to their lead in the 74th minute but Wilson's free-kick hit the butt of the post.

Bohemians miss a crucial opportunity to put pressure on Shamrock Rovers at the top as Waterford move up to third with Sheridan set to leave the Blues in the European spots.
