Shamrock Rovers welcome Slovan Bratislava to Tallaght Stadium on Tuesday night as the bid to overcome a 2-0 deficit from the first leg, with kick-off at 8pm.
The Slovakian side are familiar with the Dublin 24 venue having beaten Dundalk 3-1 there in August 2019. Buoyed by Alan Mannus' last-minute penalty save in Bratislava, the 1,500 spectators will be hoping to create a special atmosphere and contribute to a memorable European night for the Hoops.
Team News
Rovers will be without Neil Farrugia who remains side-lined with experienced midfielder Chris McCann also a concern. Dylan Watts has been seeing a gradual increase in game time so is expected to play a part on Tuesday.
Vladimír Weiss who returned the Slovan side after his involvement at EURO 2020 is continuing his integration to the team including an influential cameo from the bench last week. The Slovakian domestic season does not commence until next month so we can expect to see full utilisation of the substitutes bench from the visitors.
Current Form
After an impressive victory at home over Dundalk in their last home match, the Hoops will be hoping for a similar performance on Tuesday. Prior to that game, the home side were held to a 1-1 draw by Drogheda United and suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bohemians.
Prior to last week’s meeting, Slovan are unbeaten in four pre-season games, winning three and drawing one.
What he said - Goalkeeper Alan Mannus
"If we get an early goal then we're in a pretty good position. We can really get at them then. We've been in losing positions before this season and kept going and going until we've got a goal, or two goals.
"That experience will be good for us going into tomorrow."
What the manager said - Stephen Bradley
"We've had some special European nights at Tallaght over the years. I'm sure that 1000 will feel like 5000 tomorrow night. The energy and atmosphere they'll bring will be fantastic.
"We're going to need that if we're to turn this around. The fans will help us."
