Shamrock Rovers will travel to Eamonn Deacy Park to face Galway United after getting back to winning ways in the league last Tuesday.
Stephen Bradley's men won 2-0 on the road against Limerick following their FAI Cup exploits the week previous against Glenville.
The Hoops had previously lost two on the trot against Derry and Bohemians which had dented their top three aspirations. However, they got back to winning ways and they will be hopeful of continuing that form in to Friday night.
Meanwhile Galway have three wins from their last four, most recently an impressive 3-1 victory against Finn Harps in Ballybofey.
Currently in the bottom three, the Tribesmen could life themselves up a few places should they win and results elsewhere go their way.
