The wait is almost over as the SSE Airtricity League First Division kicks off on Friday, February 23 and it's exciting to have it back.
With a new 10-team structure in place in both senior tiers of the League, this campaign promises to be a thrilling one with so much focus on the promotion race.
Galway United have made some shrewd signings in Ryan Connolly, Danny Furlong and Tadhg Ryan, Shelbourne added the experienced trio of Lorcan Fitzgerald, Dave Mulcahy and David O'Sullivan, Finn Harps sharpened their strike force with John O'Flynn, Michael O'Connor and Ciaran O'Connor coming onboard, UCD brought through a new batch of scholars, Cabinteely, Wexford, Athlone Town, and Cobh Ramblers have placed their trust in youth, while Longford Town have bolstered their ranks with Shane Elworthy, Evan Galvin and Darren Meenan.
