Longford Town winger Dylan McGlade knows that he can contribute more this season in terms of goals and it is something that he is working on.
The former Shelbourne ace clearly has the ability to find the back of the net, it is just a matter of doing it on a regular basis.
“I’ve never been much of a goal scorer but I thought this season, I need to start chipping in with a few more goals,” he said.
“The boys will tell you, when I’m 1v1 and I’m just outside the box I’m not gonna pass, I’m very selfish, I want to score.
“This must be one of the most competitive First Divisions in a long time, I’d say there is easily six or seven teams that could go for promotion or into the play-off positions.
“It’s all about just picking off people and to try and get a run going. We have to try and pick up the points now."
Longford Town are unbeaten in their last six games and are looking like genuine contenders for the title - even though UCD have opened up a considerable lead.
“We have been talking about it the last few weeks, we’ve been playing really good football but we’ve not been really scoring but last few weeks we switched it up and we have tried to go a bit more direct and it seems to be working,” he said.
