League of Ireland Clubs learned who they will face in the opening rounds of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Conference League today.

Shamrock Rovers must await their fate in the UEFA Champions League, after they were drawn to play against the winners of the preliminary round in the first Champions League qualifying round.

The defending SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division Champions will face one of Atlètic Club d’Escaldes (Andorra), Budućnost Podgorica (Montenegro), Tre Penne (San Marino) or Breidablik (Iceland).

Dundalk FC will take on Gibraltar’s FC Bruno’s Magpies in the Uefa Europa Conference League first qualifying round and Derry City were drawn against the Faroese side HB Torshavn in the same competition.

St Patrick’s Athletic will play Luxembourg National Division side F91 Dudelange. 

The two-legged UEFA Europa Conference first qualifying round ties will take place on 13 and 20 July while the UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Rounds will take place on 11/12 and 18/19 July.

If St Pat’s win their opening UECL tie they will face either Gzira United (MLT) or Glentoran (NIR) in the Second Qualifying Round

While Dundalk will face KA Akureyri (ISL) or Connah’s Quay Nomads (WAL) if they win their tie. 

If Derry City progress through their First Qualifying Round they will face Kups Kuopio (FIN). 

 

The winners of Shamrock Rovers' qualifying tie in the UEFA Champions League First Round will face FC Copenhagen in the Second Qualifying Round.
