A number of SSE Airtricity League officials have been selected for matches in UEFA competitions.
The 2018/19 additions of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League began in June and UEFA have called up a number of SSE Airtricity League officials to officiate in both competitions.
Referee Paul McLaughlin has already officiated the UEFA Champions League Preliminary Round Semi-Final in Gibraltar between FC Santa Coloma and Kosovan side KF Drita, assisted by Darragh Keegan, Darren Carey and Sean Grant.
Referee Robert Hennessy has also officiated in this year's UEFA Champions League as he took charge of the First Qualifying Round match between Vikingur Gota of the Faroe Islands and Finnish side HJK Helsinki. Assisted by Allen Lynch, Dermot Broughton and Rob Rogers, Helsinki claimed a 2-1 victory ahead of the second leg tomorrow.
This week, referee Rob Harvey will fly out to Bulgaria to take charge of the UEFA Europa League, first qualifying round tie between Levski Sofia and FC Vaduz. He will be assisted by Robert Clarke, Wayne McDonnell and Ray Matthews on Thursday, July 17.
Referee Paul McLaughlin and assistant referee Darragh Keegan will also travel to Lithuania for an UEFA Regions Cup Mini-Tournament, beginning on Wednesday, July 16. The tournament will feature FK Nevėžis of Lithuania, Dostar of Kazakhstan, Paide of Estonia and Ironi Tiberias of Israel.
