It’s an international break this weekend with League of Ireland stars glittered throughout international squads but it’s time for the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division and SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division to take centre stage.

We have provincial derbies and the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division early title race is fascinating with a full preview here!

Highlights

Bray Wanderers v Wexford
Carlisle Grounds, 19:45

There was fierce speculation about Bray Wanderer’s Head Coach Ian Ryan’s future at the tail end of 2022 and as a surpise to some, the former Wexford Manager arrived to set a light to a new dawn at the Carlisle Grounds for 2023.

With the signings of the likes of Dane Massey and Cole Omorehiomwan, Ryan has made a good start to his reign at the Club and has the experience of Lorcan Fitzgerald in the coaching staff to back his tenure.

Making the short trip to Wicklow is Wexford who have started to find form recently after James Keddy’s strong side featuring Conor Levingston and Brandon McCann have started to pick up wins in their hunt for promotion.

Treaty United v Waterford
Markets Field, 19:45

It’s a Munster Derby on Friday as Waterford travel to Treaty United looking to reignite their title push after a relatively slow start by their standards.

Tipped by many at the start of the season to gain the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division title, Waterford have lost early ground to Galway United and cannot afford any more slip ups in the chase of the Tribesmen.

Disappointed by dropping points at home to Bray Wanderers from 2-0 up, Danny Searle will be hoping to make sure to travel back to the RSC with all three points this time around.

Tommy Barrett will know an upset against the Blues will be a massive boost to themselves having had a slow start to their campaign.

Any run of results in the SSE Airticity Men’s First Division will prove pivotal to either side’s fortunes this year and a win tomorrow could kickstart either campaign.
