Former Cork City winger Kieran Sadlier posted an emotional tribute to the league following confirmation of his move to English League One club Doncaster Rovers.
The former Republic of Ireland U21 international Sadlier sealed a switch to the Keepmoat Stadium yesterday to bring his time in the SSE Airtricity League to a close.
Sadlier joined Sligo Rovers in January 2016 and enjoyed a successful 18-month stint at the Showgrounds before sealing a move to Cork City.
The 24-year old continued his success at Turner's Cross where he scored the winning penalty for the Leesiders in the 2017 FAI Cup final against Dundalk. He finished last season as Cork City's top-scorer with 26 goals and also scored in the FAI Cup final defeat to Dundalk.
After announcing his move to the English Football League, Sadlier posted: "It's been an 18-months I'll never forget and a platform given to me by Cork City and the League of Ireland.
"In football terms, it's the best decision I've ever made coming over to Ireland and playing as it has given me the opportunity to showcase myself and meet some amazing people on and off the pitch."

Sadlier scored many great goals during his time in the SSE Airtricity League but this one from the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup quarter-final last year is worth another watch...
