The first President’s Cup fixture to feature League of Ireland Women’s Clubs between Athlone Town AFC and Shelbourne FC was launched today after both Club Captains visited Áras an Uachtaráin. Athlone Town’s Laurie Ryan and Shelbourne’s Pearl Slattery met with Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D. Higgins ahead of Saturday’s historic fixture. We would like to extend our thanks to Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D. Higgins, his wife Sabina and team for welcoming both Laurie Ryan and Pearl Slattery with representatives from the League ahead of Saturday. Saturday’s President’s Cup will be played between Athlone Town AFC and Shelbourne FC at the Athlone Town Stadium with a 4pm kick off. The game will be live on LOITV with tickets available online and at the Stadium on Saturday.
