Shamrock Rovers made a big splash by signing defender Lee Grace from Galway United for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Galway also allowed striker Vinny Faherty to leave - for Sligo Rovers - while they brought in Jonah Ayunga on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sligo strengthened their squad further by recruiting Greg Moorhouse and Jamie McDonagh who arrive from Glenavon and Morton respectively.
Dundalk allowed centre-back Paddy Barrett to join Waterford on loan just 24 hours after striker Ciaran Kilduff departed for Jacksonville Armada in the NASL.
