Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley stressed the importance of his side taking their chances after The Hoops' 2-0 win over St. Patrick's Athletic on Monday night.
Goals from Greg Bolger and Sean Kavanagh either side of half time sealed the Tallaght club's second win at Richmond Park this season.
The victory ended a run of two straight defeats for Rovers and Bradley compared a lack of chances in last night's game to a number of missed on opportunities in Friday's home defeat to Dundalk.
"I thought we were comfortable without being at our best and we deserved to win the game," Bradley said. "Our performances have been really good so there's never been any worry or doubt. On Friday we had five or six really good chances to win the game and we didn't take them. Tonight we probably only had three chances and we took two of them."
Off the pitch, Rovers have been busy in the transfer market this summer with the arrivals of Gary O'Neill and Neil Farrugia from UCD as well as Graham Cummins from Cork City. Bradley spoke of his delight at getting the players in ahead of a busy schedule.
"I'm really happy because when you're speaking to them obviously other clubs are interested and you're not sure which way it's going to go. We're delighted to get the three of them in, they'll definitely improve the team and the squad."
The Hoops host Sligo Rovers in the league this Friday before jetting off to Norway to face SK Brann in the Europa League next Thursday, a challenge Bradley is looking forward to.
"It should be a good game, (sporting director) Stephen McPhail went out and said they're a good side. They're a tough side but it's a game we can go and win."
