The draw for the FAI Cup semi finals took place tonight on Soccer Republic. It drew League of Ireland heavyweights Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers. Cork City will play Limerick at home. The fixtures will take place on Friday 29th September and Sunday October 1st. More details to follow.

Former League of Ireland star Padraig Amond has signed with Newport County for the next chapter in his career. The striker originally from Carlow had stints in the League with Shamrock Rovers, Kildare County and Sligo Rovers. Galway United have confirmed that Lee Grace has joined Shamrock Rovers for an undisclosed fee. The club were approached with an improved offer from Shamrock Rovers over the weekend, which was reluctantly accepted. The offer was accepted with the long-term future of the club in mind. Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley today said that he 'expects to announce new signings next week'.
