Bohemians are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Rory Feely from St Patrick’s Athletic.
The 24-year-old plays at centre-back or right-back, and has previously played on the right wing.
The former Kildare minor Gaelic footballer came through St Pat’s U19s before making his first-team bow towards the end of the 2014 season.
His real breakthrough season at Richmond Park came in 2016 but he made his biggest impression during his two seasons with Waterford in 2018 and 2019 before St Pat’s swooped to re-sign him ahead of the 2020 season.
He has amassed 110 Premier Division appearances, scoring five goals.
Welcoming him to Dalymount Park, manager Keith Long said: “Rory is a very experienced player having played 110 Premier Division games despite his relatively young age having only turned 24 on Sunday.
“He is a very athletic and adaptable addition to our squad. He will bring good qualities to the team and give us options in several positions with his versatility and ability.”
Rory will be following in the footsteps of his older brother Kevin when he lines out in red and black. Kevin, 28, came through the Bohs U19s and was a fans’ favourite in his one full season with the first team in 2012.
His form that season earned him a move to Charlton Athletic – he has since concentrated on his Gaelic football career and is a star performer and former for Kildare.
