
Jack Byrne has announced his departure from Shamrock Rovers in a classy statement.
Having joined the Dublin side in 2018, Byrne went on to be an integral part of the club winning its first FAI Cup since the 86/87 season and was the catalyst in the club winning the 2020 League of Ireland season unbeaten.
Byrne was named the PFAI Player of the year twice in a row in the two seasons he featured in the League along with getting four International caps in this time. In his 49 appearances for Rovers he scored 17 times from midfield.
He will be a huge loss the Shamrock Rovers & the League.
It is expected Byrne will sign for Mick McCarthy’s Apoel in Cyprus.
