UCD are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Keaney from Sligo Rovers.
Jack has agreed the move and will join the clubs renowned scholarship programme, beginning his science degree in September.
He has been an important player for Sligo, making over 50 appearances already despite being on 20. He has scored a number of quality goals already, and none more so than his brilliant free kick against Shamrock Rovers earlier this season, and hopefully over the coming years we will see many memorable moments of Jack in the UCD jersey!
Jack looks likely to be one of a number of fresh faces over the coming months, as the club continue to make significant investment in our scholarship programme, with potentially ten players signing on new scholarships over the coming weeks with the final CAO offers to come out in August. Further details will be announced in due course.
Speaking after completing the signing Collie O’Neill is pleased to have finally got his man,
“Jack is a quality player who has been a regular for Sligo this season. He’ll add an extra bit of quality to our side for the remainder of the season and over the coming years as he joins the college on scholarship. He’ll also be a big boost to the squad after a number of players have departed.”
