Waterford striker Akinade leaves the club through mutual consent

Wateford have announced the departure of striker Izzy Akinade.

The striker signed at the start of the 2018 season for the South East club.

Manager Alan Reynolds said: “The club would like to wish Izzy all the best. We signed him after gaining promotion two seasons ago and he scored some important goals for the club. We thank him for the hard work and efforts over the past 18 months. He’ll be missed on and off the pitch and was a really popular member of the squad.”

With Shamrock Rovers looking for a new striker they could move fast for the former Bohemian man.

  1. Good riddance! With his vile past no club should go near him. Way worse than Jackson/ Olding even, and not many clubs would want to associate themselves with those!
