Liam Buckley resigns as manager of St Patrick’s Athletic


St Patrick’s Athletic manager Liam Buckley has announced his resignation as the manager of the Premier Division side.

Buckley has been the most successful manager in the clubs history and the club have thanked him for his efforts over his tenure.

The club released the below statement on the official website:

Club chairman Garrett Kelleher would like to thank Liam for his numerous successes during his time here over the past number of years and in particular for bringing his brand of free flowing and passing football to St Pat’s, which has brought much entertainment and enjoyment to those who witnessed it.

On his part, Liam would like to thank all involved with St Pat’s for the support given to him during his seven year reign and wishes the club the best of luck in the future.

  1. Good honest bloke but probably gone as far as he could with this crew….needs a new challenge which maybe means dropping down to a lesser club. His experience should not be lost, he would be excellent for the likes of Bray, Limerick , Athlone or Galway. Any ambitious chairman should be on the phone to Bucko asap
