The top spot on the iTunes charts for sports podcasts had a new occupant on Monday as Greatest League In The World jumped up following the success of its latest episode.
The weekly podcast – hosted by Con Murphy and St Patrick’s Athletic winger Conan Byrne – is released every Sunday afternoon to review the latest round of games, conduct fascinating interviews, and tackle various issues concerning the League.
From the very first episode, when President Michael D. Higgins gave his thoughts on the domestic game, the podcast has strived to deliver fresh, exciting content that promotes the League but also addresses its most current issues.
On the latest episode, No 31, FAI High Performance Director Ruud Dokter discuses the structures in Irish football, the Elite Player Pathway, and explains why we are moving in the right direction.
Also on the show are ex-Shelbourne defender Stephen Paisley and current St Pat’s centre-back Michael Leahy, who talk about the need for players to take education seriously and make inroads to a post-playing career before hanging up the boots.
