Kenny Shiels: “We have a shocking league record at Turner’s Cross so I’d like to do something about that if we could.”

Following on from their midweek trip to Minsk, the Candystripes were on the road again today ahead of Monday evening’s rearranged league game in Cork.

It’s a venue that hasn’t been kind to the Brandywell outfit down the years with their last league some five seasons ago and a bigger gap back to the one before that.

Given that superb performance in Belarus on Thursday night however there is genuine hope that City can get their form back as they head into the final third of the season.

“We have no fresh injury worries,” said Kenny Shiels as the team headed south- “Nicky Low is still out and Rory Hale is suspended but thankfully everyone else is fit.”

“We have a shocking league record at Turner’s Cross so I’d like to do something about that if we could.”

“The challenge now is to stay in the race for another crack at Europe next year and that’s what we’ll be focusing on.”
