Shane Keegan departs Galway United by mutual consent

Galway United manager Shane Keegan has left the club by mutual consent the club can confirm.

The former Wexford Youths boss came under scrutiny as his side currently sit in sixth place in the First Division table and were favourites to go straight back up.

“Galway United can confirm that first team manager Shane Keegan has left the club by mutual consent.

“We would like to thank Shane for his contribution during his time at the club and wish him every success in the future.

“The club will look to appoint a new manager as soon as possible and will be making no further comment at this time.”

  1. I suppose things were not going as well as the club expected a this stage…..still, I’m sure there is a job for him somewhere. Not likely to return to Wexford, but could be the one to revitalise Athlone maybe? Unless the likes of Limerick or Bray take a punt on him….
