Dundalk moved back to the top of the table with a 5-0 demolition of St Patrick’s Athletic at Oriel Park.
Amazingly the game was scoreless going into the break even though Dundalk had numerous chances to go in front but the St Pat’s defense held firm.
However, only a minute into the second half Pat Hoban had Dundalk deservedly in front when his effort deflected off Kevin Toner and rolled past Barry Murphy.
The Galway man doubled his tally only minutes later as he reacted quickly in the box to fire past Murphy and bring his goal tally to 9 for the season.
Hoban was involved in the third too as he assisted Ronan Murray to put the game out of reach for St Pat’s.
Jamie McGrath & Michael Duffy added the final goals to secure a big win for Stephen Kenny’s side that put’s them back to the top of the table after Cork City’s defeat to Shamrock Rovers.
