Republic of Ireland to take on Celtic for Scott Brown’s Testimonial

The Football Association of Ireland can confirm that a Republic of Ireland XI will travel to Glasgow to take on Celtic in Scott Brown’s testimonial match on Sunday, May 20.

The game in Celtic Park will kick off at 14:00 and ignites a busy summer period for Martin O’Neill’s squad with the clash with France in Paris on Monday, May 28 and the visit of United States to Aviva Stadium on Saturday, June 2 to follow.

The Away Ticketing Scheme will be in operation for this game with the most loyal supporters given priority in the allocation process.

Ticket information will be announced in due course.

  1. As it’s an Irish ‘XI’ it’d be a good opportunity to give a couple of LOI lads a game and few days training with the squad

  2. I always maintained that two LOI players should be brought up to train with the international team every time. It would be a great experience and incentive for the guys and anything that helps raise standards would be welcome.

    1. 100%! The FAI and LOI need to become one unit like the IRFU model to a realistic extent. I think anyone with a genuine interest in Irish soccer would agree. ..Delaney etc on the other hand…
