Our prediction for Dundalk’s starting XI with Rosenborg tonight

Dundalk take on Norwegian champions Rosenborg at Oriel Park tonight in their Champions League qualifier.

Below is our predicted started XI we feel Stephen Kenny will go with to try and get a solid result to take with Norway.

The big call would be leaving out Stephen O’Donnell (only back from injury) and playing Chris Shields in the ‘Kante’ role at defensive holding midfielder.

We believe Dylan Connolly’s pace will be a huge threat against the Norwegians and will be given the nod ahead of Mountney or McGrath on the wing.

The back five essentially are picking themselves for Dundalk with an exceptional record as of late not conceding in the last five games.

Patrick McEleney, in the form he is in will be a danger in a floating number ten role and also are expecting David McMillan will be selected up top on his own.
