The SSE Airtricity League have launched the Club Awards to recognise the work of committees and volunteers in the league.
The SSE Airtricity League has witnessed an overall growth in attendances during the enthralling 2017 season and it is down to the hard work of staff, volunteers and supporters at all clubs in the Premier and First Division.
The Club Awards will help recognise the achievements of clubs in their community and help reward the hard-working people of the SSE Airtricity League, with seven award categories named.
All clubs will be asked to submit details of initiatives on each category and an independent panel will decide the winner of each category which will be announced at a ceremony in October.
SSE Airtricity League Marketing Executive John Mc Guinness said: “We’re delighted to launch the SSE Airtricity League Club Awards. There are so many great examples of initiatives being implemented throughout the league and working in conjunction with our sponsor SSE Airtricity, we want to recognise and award those efforts.
“The league is built on the great work at football clubs up and down the country in their own communities, and without this work, we wouldn’t have a SSE Airtricity League. We hope these awards will go some way to rewarding these efforts.”
SSE Airtricity Sponsorship Manager, Anne McAreavey, commented: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the inaugural SSE Airtricity League Club Awards, celebrating the immense work being carried out by staff, volunteers and supporters at clubs throughout Ireland.
“Their passion and dedication is key to the success of the SSE Airtricity League, and the Club Awards is a fantastic opportunity to recognise their commitment and showcase their successes.”
