Preston North End set to sign Cork City’s Kevin O’Connor

Preston North End are set to announce the signing of a second player from Cork City in only a matter of days.

A report today in the Lancashire Post confirmed the interest from Preston in signing 22 year old Left back Kevin O’Connor from Cork City.

No fee has been mentioned yet or length of the deal that is being offered by the Championship club.

The deal is expected to be announced in the very near future but when O’Connor heads over is not confirmed either, as Sean Maguire has been let stay at Cork City until the end of July to assist the club with Europa League fixtures.

O’Connor signed for League of Ireland side Cork City in 2015 from Waterford United.

Last season we did a piece on which League of Ireland players we felt Martin O’Neill should be looking at and referenced O’Connor as an exceptional talent.

If all goes ahead, then the Wexford man will be challenging fellow Irish man Greg Cunningham for the left back position at Deepdale.
