Derry City to play their European games in Oriel Park

It has been announced that Derry City’s Europa League fixtures will be played in Dundalk’s Oriel Park this season.

Derry are to play in European competition for the first time since 2013 and with their ground ‘The Brandywell’ being redeveloped and Maginn Park failing to meet Uefa standards the club had to look elsewhere.

According to the Derry News, Sligo Rovers had out priced them for the use of the Showgrounds which meant the club has struck a deal with Dundalk for the use of Oriel Park.

The club are to find out their opponents in the next few weeks.
