Waterford FC is delighted to add two further signings to the squad ahead of the new SSE Airtricity League of Ireland First Division season after securing the services of both Mark O’Sullivan and Conor Whittle.
Mark O’Sullivan becomes the latest high-profile player to join the Blues since the appointment of both Pat Fenlon and Alan Reynolds on Monday last. The striker joins the club from Cork City where he hit a total of 25 goals in 88 appearances at Turners Cross.
Re-joining the club is Waterford-native and former Republic of Ireland underage player Conor Whittle. The 21-year-old right full back returns for a second stint at the club after spending the last two seasons with Wexford Youths.
A total of 13 players have now been confirmed by the club ahead of the 2017 season.
Commenting on the squad to date, Waterford FC Head Coach Alan Reynolds said, “As you’ve seen, we’ve set a high standard and have brought in a high calibre of player by trying to sell them the project of what we’re trying to do here.
“We will have a number of trial players coming in because we need the right type of player and of the right standard. We are just asking everyone to get behind us to try make this project successful.”
